"Coolest Band on Earth" no more
CNN.com has a decent article on the rise and fall of The Strokes. "The band has gone from being critical darlings to ... well, not being critical darlings."
I really loved their first album. The second was mediocre. Seemed like they were trying too hard to be the Cars. I was going to see them on their tour stop in Louisville; however, the show was sponsored by Clear Channel. And since CC pulled Howard Stern off the air in Louisville, I refuse to support them in any way.
Oh well, I'm glad I didn't go since CNN says they're not cool anymore anyway.
