Student film: Generation Ecstacy
This is another film that I shot in Bradenton, Florida in 1995. It is a short documentary on the widespread use of ecstacy in Sarasota (thus the oh-so-clever title). I made it with my friends Rob McKittrick (who stars in "Skinflute") and Mike Le. Mike and Rob have since gone on to careers in Hollywood. Rob has written and directed his first feature film, "Waiting...". Mike recently wrote "Tokyo Suckerpunch" for Fox Searchlight. I'm sure this film; however, still ranks as one of their proudest achievements.
This one, like most of my films, makes me cringe (a lot) when I watch it (especially since we misspelled "edited" in the credits).
