We had the best flat tire ever!
This morning, we headed out for a Thanksgiving trip to Memphis to visit Amy's family. About 45 miles into the trip, a truck forced us onto the side of the road where we ran over some debris. About 2 minutes later, the tire pressure monitoring system in our van alerted me that we were losing tire pressure in our rear left tire.

I pulled over, got out and saw that the tire was almost completely flat. In the time it took for me to return to the van and tell Amy that we really had a flat, the Kentucky SAFE Patrol truck pulled right in behind us. It was a huge truck with a big flashing arrow on the back and just about every tool you could ever need when you're stranded on the side of the road.

The guy hopped out, turned on the arrow (to direct traffic around us) and basically took care of everything from there. He removed our flat, lowered our spare from under the van, put on the spare and used his air compressor to put a little more air into our spare. To top if off, he gave us directions to a tire shop about 9 miles away in Elizabethtown, KY.

So we limped the 9 miles on our temporary spare and found Wayne's Tire Shop. Wayne's was pretty busy; however, they worked us right in. In less than 30 minutes, we had a new tire mounted and we were back on the road.

It was the best flat tire I've ever had. It took us just under an hour from the time we got the flat to the time we were back on the road. A big thanks to the Kentucky SAFE Patrol and Wayne's Tire Shop.
