The battle over a dumb idea
Roger Avary, who co-wrote "Pulp Fiction" with Quentin Tarantino, is suing Microsoft over a video game idea he claims MS stole from him. Turns out that Avary does consulting for video game storylines (good to see that Oscar has opened the doors to the big time) and was asked to help MS conceive of a game to engage women. The resulting idea was for a game that leads players through yoga poses.

Avary claims that MS tried to get him to sign away the rights to his idea (with no compensation, of course). Avary declined. Recently, MS has announced a new game called "Yourself! Fitness" that leads players through... you guessed it, yoga poses.

While, from the very little bit of information in the article, it looks like Avary has a case, I'm not sure why in the world anyone would think that a yoga video game is a good idea. I mean, wouldn't a DVD do just fine. Or maybe it is competitive yoga. But I think, to paraphrase one of Avary's lines from "Pulp Fiction," that kind of competition would go against the whole idea of yoga.
