TiVo to add internet content?
News.com is reporting that TiVo has plans to allow users to download music and movies via the internet with their set-top boxes. Of course, some analysts speculate that this type or service could further strain their relationship with DirecTV.
This could be very cool if they're able to pull it off. My decision to build a Home Theater PC was based on the lack of an existing out-of-the-box product. If TiVo or some other company could produce a box that has an HD satellite tuner, HD PVR, broadband access and a DVD burner (and could be controlled by a single remote), there would be no need to buy or build anything else.
