EA's online plan for Madden
EA has released details on its new online gaming features for Madden 2005. This will be the first year that Madden is playable on Xbox Live and it appears they are going all the way. Many of the features, like online tournaments and alert options, are straight out of Microsoft's now-defunct XSN.

Although I have already decided on ESPN NFL 2K5, it will be interesting to see which game grabs more marketshare now that there are only 2 major players. I am hoping that ESPN's gameplay (which has already won Best of E3 honors) and $19.99 price point will help it catch up with Madden. If nothing else, the price point may allow hard-core NFL gamers to buy both and determine which they prefer.
